These teacup serving exercises are best known from Cheng style Bagua. They train turning power, opening and closing power, and pushing and pulling power – they open the joints of the body and train linked strength throughout the body. They also teach us how to manoeuvre around multiple contact points in a dynamic way and how to store force and release it which is extremely useful for fighting.
